Need some help here, i was at a 1950's rock/roll-rhythm and blues dance and heard a song that had the same hook as the chorus of this song, assuming this was supposed to be the fifties era, my thought was that the mystery song was released before 'Spirit', can anyone enlighten me

this song, like many other from it's time, have survived the test of time without everyone knowing so. i hadn't heard the song before, but i knew it somehow from the intro.
