Excellent information, thank you. I also think a willingness to believe the outcome *ought* to be a specific way has a lot of influence on how things are remembered. As with another of Brown's videos, I think there's something to be said about the type of people that he tries to trick. In this case it's a group of volunteers "selected" based on an advertisement that Brown wrote, so there's likely a bit of expectation for the attendees before they even arrive. Then the less susceptible leave.

@Ayablue.
That is how mass halucinations work Aya. The human mind does not remember things like a video tape does. When you recall a memory you are not replaying an event in your minds eye. Humans actually don't experience reality in this way either. The mind takes in data and constructs a reality to react with. It has been documented many times that people can have full memories of false events 'Suggested' to them and yet they remember them as if they actually happened.

Explain what you mean with 'not exactly hypnotism', as this was EXACTLY what stage hypnotists use all the time. From start to end, all hypnotism. What mediums and fundamentalists use is also hypnotism. Lol, unless you think taking advantage of advanced human psychology is somehow 'divine intervention', which would be a stupid thought. |
