He is west indian settled in south, I don't think Mumbai counts as North india, it is west india right. I guess from UP onwards only its North india.

fyi hindi is not our national language, its our official language. i don't care if amitabh bachan is far more popular than rajni. rajni makes movie for tamils and we like him thats all.

Its important one to remember that the main purpose of cinema is ENTERTAINMENT. I am not saying that he is greater than others nor he is the best. I am saying that he is also an actor which have a lot of fans. I suppose the movies i listed down are hits, which in perspective satisfied his fans very much. You cant compare him with the younger ones.. The one actor Rajnikanth can be compared with is none other than Kamal Haasan, who is a great actor himself. They both cant be compared to others man

what vinodgopal1979 says is correct. Rajni is a big flop and Tamil cinema industry cheater! He only does stunts that is gravity defying and what a shame that is for Tamil cinema industry. Surya and Vikram are trying to save Tamil cinema industry from such idiots such as Super comedy star Rajnikanth's movies.
