You're right. Donegan was fabulous. About Tommy Steele. He was really a theatre man and had GREAT talent there. Check out Flash Bang Wallop from the MOVIE Half a Sixpence right here on Youtube. The man was a terrific entertainer.

Lonnie Donegan's skiffle was the first music I "dug", as such. A friend of mine's older, cooler, brother had 78s of his, as well as Little Richard and others, so we got to hear them. "6.05 Special" was the highlight of the week's TV in 50s Britain (our first pop TV?) and everything stopped. 3 cheers for Pete Murray and Ottilie Paterson as well. My mum used to think Pete Murray's ears were peculiar. I was eight years old in 1957... Many thanks, Lupine22
