The world isnt overpopulated. There's enough space for all 6 billion ppl. But AREAS are overpopulated causing the lack of resources in one given place. People who care about these issues must unite and form plans for the good of the country. We are so industrialized and technological yet we dont try enough to solve issues that desperately need fixing. ALL ISSUES affect ALL PEOPLE... nothing is divided. Separation is only an illusion, nothing is fully disconnected.

I am really looking to make a difference. I want to leave this place better for my children and it is not looking like that is going to happen if we don't stand up to the rich lobbiests in the government setting. We need to stand up for ourselves and our children. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer and it is time to stand up for those who can not stand up for themselves. Mothers are a large group of the US population. We have the power - let's embrase it!

I agree with you 100%. Mom's need to unite and stand up for our future generations or they are going to really have a rough life. Mom's let's wake up and unite and make a difference!

Western poverty is third-world affluence.

I believe the world is overpopulated, too, but I'm not going to practice population reduction by burning the kids and families. Women need to have easy access to birth control and we need to get over this fad of having big families. That said, yes, the children are our future. We need to protect, educate and care for our children. They will be wiping your butt when you are old and competing on the world labor market. You just want to creat canon fodder for the war machine? arent we civilized, yet?

I can not believe the unwillingness of people to help out other people in need. It is absolutely appalling to read some of these comments and hear the selfish attitude coming through. Nobody gets to where they are without some help at some point in their lives. The world would be a better place if people would just look around at each other and work together.

If we don't wake up soon, we won't have a country. No matter what you think about various issues the truth is that our country is failing. It's failing the people who pay taxes worse still future generations. We are borrowing to create a democracy in Iraq our national debt grows. The line between the rich the poor growing larger every day eventually there will be a revolt that will make the French Revolution look like a cake walk. Less then 32% of us vote. Wake up America.

I have no idea what you're talking about Alice - what does having a good or bad childhood have to do with this? I owe nothing - the taxes I pay every month pays for parents' benefits - which in reality they shouldn't be getting. If someone can't afford to look after their own children, they shouldn't have them. Oh,and my taxes also pay for the education of other people's kids. I have no choice in any of this. Is that fair?
aliceinneverland27 (January 18, 2008 at 7:27 pm)
You are missing the point! It's not about mothers, or fathers and how self righteous and important that is. It's about kids! And why should we care - well go watch animal planet - see how other mammals care for their youngs. WHY SHOULD WE DO LESS? Aren't we HUMAN?
aliceinneverland27 (January 18, 2008 at 7:23 pm)
What are bunch of hypocrites we have here!I gather you people never were children and never had a mommy (and a daddy for that matter- preferable not working 90 hours per week)? Sure, why should we care about families, when we could subsidize corporations? ake up people! If you had a good childhood-you owe as much to future kids (whether or not you decide to have children is irrelevent). If you had horrible childhood-then you know the price- would you willingly inflict it on another human being?
