Well, you can go feed a person and then leave or you can tell him that the God of the universe came to empower him from bondage on multiple levels.
Either way the food helps temporarily and the spirit can be crushed by past conditioning.
What conditioning will change the world for good? Seeing through their eyes or changing how they see the world?

what she said is so true... if people who had their children killed think that there's a peaceful way to solve conflicts, there has to be a solution... if we only try to understand others...
