This perhaps is informative, but it is still an apoligist documentary for british elites in my opinion, choosing leads....only going so far.

Sheesh... I wait 16 years to see this again and the best bit's been cut out!
I'm sure the original had an interview from the 1960's with someone from the City where the interviewer starts off by asking "Isn't this a disaster"? The reply went somthing along the lines of: "No, it isn't a disaster, it's a... well, yes, it's a disaster..."

Calculators used to be cogs and levers. Before that it was beads on sticks or knots in ropes. The machine just modeled some economic principles. Nothing wrong with the machine, its the unquestioning reliance on simplistic models thats the shocker. And its something we still do.

is this real !! i dont want to look as thick as a whale burger !!! it seems amazing that the economy may have been worked by a water machine !!!! this seems like some april fools joke ?????

This is good stuff. Very complex and detailed, I must admit I do not understand all of it but it is a wonderful learning tool. Great documentary.

Awesome. I love all the Curtis docs I've seen. I started on The Trap and The Power of Nightmares.
The funny thing is, his earlier work is actually more complex. He has simplified the economics for his more recent work to make it more accessible. Pandora's box shows all the doubters he really does know what he is talking about on the economics side.

Adam Curtis is the most brilliant documentary producer, of all time. If you haven't seen the rest of his films, look them up. They're all on-line. "Century of the Self", "The Power of Nightmares", and "The Trap", to name a few.

Change your utube account to a directors account, go to help for info, so long as you don't post videos larger than 100MB.. any time limit does not apply..
is that OK for you fucker? |
