This asshole nut had been pushed around by the local gun-to-your-head government to degrees so blatantly agenda-driven and arguably way out of Constitutional boundaries, I really don't see how he had any other choice. He went out of his way not to hurt any innocent civilians and at the end of his "stupidity" the only person hurt was himself. And the assholes who fucked him over.
