PONCA CITY - KAW DAM AFTER FLOOD RAINS PART 1
KAW DAM PART 1 of 2 ---
With lake levels sitting at 1,046.05 feet Kaw Dam officials opened all 8 gates 3 feet each. They are releasing about 44,000 cubic feet of water per second. Kaw Lake is over 36 feet above its normal level. The 2 gates seen to the far right of the dam, the eastern side, shows even more water discharging since the edge seals on those 2 gates have yet to be retrofitted with the new seals like teh first 6 gates have. Dam officials said they are waiting on the funding to return to finish those 2. This does not represent a threat of any kind and has been like this for years.
