I've got to go with ymirnickp. I've nothing against field hockey, but as someone who's played both, Ice Hockey is far more brutal. As ymirnicko pointed out, ice hockey players are going MUCH faster, and the players are usually pretty big. Not to mention, it's played on ice, which is a harder than a field, unless you play inside or on something like concrete. The pucks are harder and going much, much faster than field hockey balls, the chance of getting sliced by a skate, et cetera.
