Derren is no more a "fraud" than any other magician/trickster. He himself states there's no magic or anything involved, just simple mind games. Of course he probably fails a lot of the time, but so what? He still, as we can see here, succeeds sometimes too, and that is what's impressive.

I think it is possible though the sales person would have to be very "unconscious" if you know what I mean. When you're decently trained as a sales person you always check the money. So for instance, while the people inside the shops took money for granted sometimes, the man on the street does not. I don't know, Derren Brown uses "misdirection" that can fucking mean anything

this would probably work on a lot of people if you used the same technique derren did, but i imagine theres not a lot of ppl out there with the balls to try this!

How many people did Derren try to fool/con, before the 'trick' worked? With clever video editing anyone can look a magician. If we just knew this video we should rightly conclude the Derren is a miserable fraud. We know from other videos on YouTube and from his stage shows that he can be an accomplished performer but claims that any 'mentalism', NLP, hypnosis, or subliminal suggestion is involved are misleading. Good on him though that he can make money out of tricking audiences. Reinhard

Is he doing "pattern interrupt" in here?when the guy in the store subconciously assumes that derren is gonna pay him with notes,derren brings out blank paper.this makes the guy confused(pattern interrupt) and at that moment,derren gives the suggestion,"take it,its fine,its fine"...so the subconcious accepts the command. What do u guys think about it?I dnt have much knowledge in this field.so i'm not sure about this.
