It's really encouraging to see a german pinscher train like that...! My Hera is 6 months now and I hope one day she'll obey like Kaisa..!

Thanks Fanny, I really appreciate your feedback! :o)

Since I have no sound, I also watched your body a lot, and you are doing quite a bit of moving when you're giving your cues. Try to think about that as well.
You look great and these comments are really nothing most judges would call you for. Good luck!

...Move more calmly during the heelwork, make your turns a bit slower. Wait longer before you give commands (I believe it's 3-5 seconds you should wait during the signals excercise, but I could only count to two watching you). I notice this because I have the same problem, and I need to think about it all the time...

Hi Åse! This really looks great! You should be out trialing - asap! I could not have done this any better. A few things for you to think about though: Try to be a little slower in the ring. This is an issue where I have to remind myself all of the time, since I'm to fast and also to obedient in the ring... I have no sound on my computer, so I'm not sure if you had someone directing you in the ring, but even if you did, you can be slower...

Thanks! She's nearly eight years old now, so we can't exactly claim lightening-quick progression *grin*. I've had her from puppyhood, however our "serious" training has been disrupted partly by my health issues and also for a time by her dog-dog issues. I had to fix that before I could safely enter her in a show.

I never tire of watching you two progress. How old is the dog and how long have you been training him?
That really is some great heel-work.

Thank you, but we're a long way from perfect. I keep trying to post a link to the 2006 Obedience WC, but apparently YouTube doesn't want links in these comments. I'll send it to you directly. |
