Quality of learning
When families live a hand-to-mouth existence, they think twice about sending their child to school. When they do, sadly, not all children are given good education.
The present school system assesses a child's knowledge through examinations. Substandard teaching, poor infrastructure, and an education system that is not child-friendly prevent children from asking questions or thinking creatively.
Gender discrimination means girls from poor families are more likely to drop out of school compared to boys. True, more children are entering schools. Also true, many of them are not given quality education.
