Ok, I gotta clear this up. WHen Metallica was making their old classics, i.e. Ride the Lightning, Master, and Justice, they were pouring their hearts into keeping the music creative and intricate; while maintaining their heavy edge. They aren't as creative a collaboration as Dream Theater; nor are they as talented as any of the musicians in DT. But they are pioneers to the usage of elaborate power chord progression and the grinding crunch that is the trademark sound of heavy metal.

Even if you don't love Metallica, you should be grateful that they're around, because they are no doubt been a great influence to DT and many other bands.

Nothing i can say will put it in better words than this. Dream theater is composed 5 of the best musicians in the world and they are gods over metallica. metallica doesn't suck, DT is just 100000 times better.

dont fuck me with that shit!! for instance, portnoy is so much better than lars. anyone knows that, and petrucci is obiously more talentous than james and kirk. kirk is good but cm on man, petrucci is definetly another thing. i will not mention myung because he makes shit jason! all that makes DREAM THEATER better than metallica. im not against metallica but u cant compare them with this gods.
