Very good video m8. been trying to get this to work for bloody ages and followed many tutorials on various sites.i followed ur vid. perfect. the equipment i used was:
dell latitude d610
dlink dwl g650 pcmia card
and backtrack 3 on a usb stick (bootable)
now i can succesfully crack wep. cheers chap

do you have to be hooked up to a router or could i like d this wireless from my laptop and get on. sorry im new at all this i just took interest into it about 2 weeks ago so if anyone could help thanks.

also try the compitibily on aircrack-ng's site.
the WG311v3 uses a Marvell Chipset, so it won't work.
The WG311v2 uses a TI chipest, so according to their site, it works for airodump.
For aireplay, it says:
YES (driver patching required) Possibly No fragmentation attack support.
However, from what I remember the backtrack 3 disk includes this driver.
Also, the aircrack-ng suite is also available for windows, but compatibility is MUCH lower.

You should use the wiki of the backtrack distrib, and seek in the HardwareCompatibilityList
