This piece, "Bird's Lament," is found on the "Moondog 1" album on the Columbia label still available on CD at Amazon. CD reissue in 2005. Original issue 1969. Pictured here is the front cover of a recent biography about Moondog (Louis Hardin).

This is the original arrangement, as far as I can tell. I think it's also called Lament 1, Bird's Lament, Symphonique No. 9, or something like that. You can find it on any Moondog compilation or the self-titled album.

Where the hell can you find this on an album of there's? I've checked out britten sinfonia playing moondog(sidewalk dances) and it's great but their 'lament' is a bit of a dirge, perhaps that's how moondog intended. I prefer this arrangement, it's more urgent. I think it's by 'la boote noire'. Can anyone help?

Great track. If someone could post 'Stomping Ground', from the 70's I'd be very grateful. I want to enlighten a young friend who may not have heard it. Can't find it.
