hahah yer i learnt raleys, fs 5, bs 3's and hs fronties before i learnt anything toeside. but whenever i entered a comp i could do better heelside tricks than the podium standers but i could never get there myself.. i spend the rest of the season getting my toeside wakejumps poppie. and now i can almost do every trick toeside as i can heelside...
it's all about the technique of getting as much height as possible. once you got that you'll learn and land new inverts and spins 1st or 2nd go. :P

i'm horrible at toeside :( i can't do near the stuff i can do heelside. i'm working at doing more switch stance things aswell cuz i bairly ride switched. it must be nice wakeboarding in australia i'm guessing? i cant go wakeboarding all winter cuz i'm in canada :(

yeh dude i do see where you're coming from. here in australia in the local comps i enter they put a lot of emphasis on style, as it's the only thing that you cannot be taught by a teacher. but yer, good work dude... if you're not working on toeside inverts too already you should, it helps you progress faster heelside too. but yeh... i think they should all encourage stylish riders in comps more because it's often more interesting to watch too.

i am definitly NOT new to wakeboarding. i can do all the grabs, raley, backroll and i'm learning to tantrom. i do watch alot of compititions, including going to wakestock in toronto. you are right, its not just about the tricks, but you can not say that these are really advanced tricks eather. style plays a part in the compitition, but the riders who have the same amount of style, but on more advanced tricks will always win, like ricky malonosky. yes the guy in the vid is good but he isnt great

i've been wakeboarding for 7 years and as if those tricks don't have it to make podium. parks bonifay doesn't ever do inverts and he always get podium. it's about the style dude. sounds like you're just new to wakeboarding. if you knew a thing or two about wake comps there is a execution denomination, which is dedicated to style and how big you go...

calm down bud!!! i never said i was anybetter than the guy in the video.... i just said that he isn't very good (considering malibu got him to be in one of their video's)and there's no denying that if someone did the tricks he does in the video on the pro wakeboard tour, they wouldn't even make it into the podiums. there wern't even 5 inverted tricks, and the rest were just grabs and spins. i've been wakeboarding all summer for a few years now and none of the stuff he did was really impressive. |
