"Hamid Belocine" is the trombonist's name, according to that shout by Jean-Philippe Marthely. The name conjures up some Northern African origins. Can anyone confirm?

Wow......shows what I know......after listening to this song for about 21 years, I sincerely thought that solo at the end was eitehr a clarinet. As a trumpet player in my yourger years, I can totally appreciate the amount of passion put into that cadenza/solo. Tres Magnifique!

I first bought one of their LPs in March 1984 in Abidjan, a few weeks before they were supposed to stage a show there, which would be their second visit to Africa, following Algeria. The third country they would visit on the continent would be my home country of Angola. The trombone solo must be one of the most beautiful improvised renditions on an Afro tune. The French hornist even pays a musical tribute to Camille Sopran Hildever, the soprano sax monster who originally soloed on the song.

I got a pirated copy of this DVD in Kigali last month. In my opinion there is not other group with African roots in the world that has taken their music to the four corners of the globe. Desvarieux is the six-string guitar player. The bassist is Décimus

As far as I know George Décimus never recorded his voice as a singer, at least not commercially. I'm glad his supposed passing-away was just a rumour
