well if anything at all goes wrong during the 4 day ceramony, or the girl doesn't listen to the medicine man then her and her family could have a hard life afterwards

oh wow! i went to school with her and another girl i noticed in there. whenever the teacher's would call on one of us we always got confused cuase my name and her name sounds almost alike. her name is dasheena and my name is t'sheena (Ta-sheen-a)that's how u say it. i had no idea they did a documentry on it. that's really cool.

I agree to an extent. As an apache I know how important preserving traditions like these are to some. Others of my people would hardly miss it if they stopped. It's all down to personal perspective I suppose.
On the other hand, I can't help but notice how much they've idealized in this documentary. They've completely left out the other things which go on. The drinking, the fighting, the drinking, the food selling, the drinking...did I mention the drinking? 'Cause they drink. A lot.

traditions should always evolve with time the point at which we have to make an effort to preserve them is the point they become unnecessary ... this looks good but is not relevant ... but the place from where I am from
these bits are on a different scale :) |
