Channel 4's program on the May 3rd tornado. The F5 tornado killed 44 people in Moore, Oklahoma. There's an amazing footage showing how the tornado is formed by several funnels merging as one (0:46). This tornado produced the strongest wind speeds ever recorded on Earth, 318 mph.

ya earthquakes and tornadoes.... scary s***.. like i said though I have never been in an earthquake or hurricane. Hurricanes though, you would have to be retarded not to evacuate, since you have what.. 4-5 advanced warning.

Not to take away from the severity of tornadoes, but all natural disasters are very horrible, you just have to be there. This coming from a Californian who was near the epicenter of the Northridge earthquake. Earthquakes don't give warning. They catch you wherever you may be, and in a matter of seconds you hear the roads crack open, freeways falling and buildings collapsing. That's the price we pay for living here.

It's unreal to know that at 0:47 you are watching the formation of the most violent storm ever recorded in the earth's history. As bad as the greensburg, KS tornado was, this one had winds that were over 100mph higher. Unreal.

i would know because ive been in one.

the amount of damage done by the debris is actually the only way Ef-5 damage can occur in almost all cases. The wind alone usually is not enough, the structures are pulverized by debris, THEN swept away by the wind. Scary stuff !!

trust me, it wouldnt matter if you slammed into the ground, because you would probably be killed by flying debris. and not all were slammed violently into the ground.

an f5 hit Greensburg, Kansas last year. It wiped the town completely off the face of the earth.

There's nothing more intense or scary in nature than the sight of an F5 tornado. Thank god there hasn't been another F5 in this country since this one. If this thing had hit Oklahoma City head on, I don't even want to think about what would've went down
