I sometimes wonder about the wonderful albums that I don't even know about...

Last week I heard this song for the first time. I'm 34 years old and I have overlooked the music of David Sylvain and Japan in the eighties. What a pity, this song is so beautiful... And a very nice video directed by the fantastic Anton Corbijn.

I know Percy Jones (as a musician, not personally), and he hates being compared to Jaco. I would not even compare them, just that the whole thing with the bass harmonics being played on a fretless.

Mick Karn didn't play bass on this album. This is a guy called Percy Jones.

The bass line reminds me of the Joni Mitchell song Coyote, with Jaco Pastorius. I don't know if anyone else gets that or not, but I know that he was a big influence on Mick Karn.

I always thought that David Sylvian looked like Nick Rhodes and John Taylor morphed together, particularly in this video. I'm an 80s child so seeing this again makes my heart happy.
