Well said cbjmark. If you get the chance, listen to the DC5 song No Time To Lose. It sounds just like Twist and Shout. Mike Smith's powerful vocals.

Sadly, Mike Smith died earlier this year, just a few months after the saxophone player passed on.
Are we getting old or what?!?

I'm positive that the DC5 were on in March, AFTER the Beatles performed in February for three consecutive Sundays.
The Beatles broke open the British Invasion, but - you're right - the DC5 DID tour America months before the Beatles did in August of 1964.

Chippy783, that's the legendary voice of the DC5, the great Mike Smith. Boyishly cute looks of Paul Mac, and the power voice of John Lennon (in the way John L sings Twist & Shout). Check out other videos of the DC5 and you can see Mike's stage presence with his charming smile. Long Live The DC5!!!

Dave Clark five was incredible but should never be compared to the Beatles however it should be noted they were the first British invasion group to come to America and was on Ed sullivan show january 1964 and the Beatles were on the following month !
