to the film makers, good on you for showing us just how easy it is to get away with it, i will lock my bike in safer places, thanks. however saying things like 'nobody gives a shit' is unfare in your film, if you;re smart you wont risk getting hurt becuase of a bike, approaching a man with a chainsaw, this in New york for flip sake one on the crime capitals of the world, advice, if you see a 'bike' getting nicked, dont be a hero, claim it on your insurance and stick it to the man,

They used their own bikes, locks and tools as you can see in the beginning of the film.

While I appreciate the documentary muckraking aspect of this video, I sure hope the Neistats paid people back for their destroyed locks and gave them back their bikes. Otherwise, there's little difference between them and actual bike thieves. Except 15 min. of fame.

I foiled a bike theft in Oakland that was being performed by a black guy with two lookouts. Let me tell you that NOBODY but me did a thing. After I turned and told him to knock it off and made a fuss, he gave up. Then I could hear people around me talking about how they saw it, etc. No one was doing a thing, not even calling the cops with their cells (altho that would do jack 5#it in Oakland).

It's not really that he was white, or that the people assume he lost a key. It's just that most people are cowards, or they are just too busy thinking about their own lives. NO ONE GIVES A DAMN. Many will not risk trying to find out if someone is a thief because they are afraid of getting shot or stabbed. After all, it's not heir bike being stolen... |
