I like the original far more than the Metallica version, but that's not entirely true. Garage Inc. contains covers of songs from artists that have meaning to Metallica, who've influenced them and motivated them. Saying Metallica's has no meaning is a little off the mark. Someone can write a song about something in their life, sometimes people cover songs that have helped them or represented something in THEIR lives.

Heard the cover on Garage inc. Good song. Glad I heard the original - has more meaning now :)

secret treaties is the best boc album ever.
it sounds like it as recorded in a phone booth deep within puget sound and makes perfect sense.

these guys play it like it actually means something to them. metallica plays a cover, its a good cover but its just not the same.

mixas6678---"Some Enchanted Evening's" Astronomy solo. Quite right. Quite great. Try "A Long Day's Night" (THE CD not the DVD). The CD has "Astronomy" on it, but not on the DVD. Don't know why. Although Eric's vocals are not up to what they were 20-30 years ago, Buck's closing solo on this version is IMHO unparalleled. |
