I put creationism into perspective by several methods, each demonstrating its absurdity. https://www.paypal com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_send-money&nav=1.1 wagray [at] email.unc.edu Aronra's video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... I agree with you entirely. They should be replicable. I am not so much upset at this guys science, as I am with his presentation. Like I said, I agree creationism is crap. I have listened to them, (I have even seen a museum created by them). It is phony. But this guy just annoys me. Thats all. I agree with his stance, not his language or "logic".

« I am not capable of blindly accepting this? » Who's asking you to blindly accept anything? The whole deal with scientific findings is that they are replicable. They are in fact *required* to be replicable. Which means that *you* yourself can go over the evidence and verify that it does in fact imply what the scientific community has accepted as scientific truth since the advent of evolutionary theory. Or are we being Poe'd again? I can't tell anymore...

I agree with this video. People are lazy and afraid of the unknown so that's why so many people want to believe in doctrine et al when they can try to believe in what's real. Google 'The Church of Reality' if you'd rather live in a more honest way and not sound like a crazy person everytime you talk about your unproven beliefs

We theists all ultimately all seek the same thing, and I respect how other people connect and love God. I have no authority to go around and say that you must find it my way.
UNFFwildcard (August 13, 2008 at 11:31 pm)
I'm glad you pointed this out so that I may clarify. Let me put it this way: envision yourself as a muslim, a buddist, or an adherent to any other religion. How would you connect with God, and how would you relate to God and to other people? That's what I appreciate about other religions. Its not that I'm picking and choosing from other religions to make up a custom one, it's that I am simply appreciating and respecting other people's way of worshipping God.

Don't you mean: I am not capable of blindly accepting this? You can see the non sequiturs from the very first thing he says. Snowflake statistics = accepting theory of evolution? The fact the YOU believed that kind of trash means you are probably not able to even conceptualize sesame street. Tr....ash. Tr..ash... Tr ash.. TRASH!! ;)

« evidenced by the fact that it exists. that you exist » Stuff exists, ergo gods exist. Yeah, that sounds reasonable.
bigduggieface (August 13, 2008 at 4:35 am)
UNFF, you are saying that nobody can know the true nature of God. One must trust in God and find their own path. All religions are equally valid, but you arbitrarily choose to adhere firmly to Christianity for unsaid reasons. You say, "there are some things I like about islam, some about buddism, and some about wicca." Does this mean that you personally take a bit of what you LIKE about other religions, but generally Christianity is more true to you, so you "firmly believe" it over others?

evidenced by the fact that it exists. that you exist.
UNFFwildcard (August 12, 2008 at 5:11 pm)
I firmly believe in the christian doctrine, but just because I believe in it doesn't mean I can know the true nature of God with certainty, and therefore I cannot dismiss how other people percieve their version of God or how they choose to find their path to God. Knowing this, the only thing one can do is to hold trust in God.
