No, Karate was invented by the Okinawa people to fight us Japanese lol In Japanese is mean this Kara-empty te-hand Or in english is equal to unarmed. You CAN use weapons and karate. Karate is when you arnt have a weapon, I see many stupid movies in USA that say our honor was so many weird stuff. Or over exsagerate it. Sure is honor to die in battle long time ago, in WWII my grandpa was blow himself up with granade so not get captured. But I dont like USA movies tell false things...

It was no longer considered Karate anymore because of "nowadays". The real Karate back in the days didn't consider "how" you should beat the opponent but just "win" not matter how ridiculous or stupid you look. Because they didn't see the point in losing. The only code of honor or whatever it is within the Karate practitioner was not to hold a weapon and/or already carry a weapon before the fight.

While I was practicing Daido, there was very simple katas and Daido was known as Karate. Actually the only difference that I can see now, is that they have no Kata anymore. But everything else is the same. When I was practicing it, Kata was not important at all. I say it was a Kudo from the begining. Osu
