This video/footage was created and owned solely by © 2008 Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. Magnum XL-200 A true legend! The Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point didn't just break world records when it opened in 1989 - it shattered them! Standing an amazing 205 feet above the Earth below and cruising at a top speed of 72 mph, this scream machine was the tallest and fastest roller coaster ever created when it debuted in 1989. As impressive as those statistics are, coaster enthusiasts will tell you the element that makes Magnum truly a coaster king is its "airtime!" That feeling of floating over each of the ride?s intense hills helps make Magnum one of the greatest coasters of all time. The Magnum is a traditional "out and back" coaster that features 5,106 feet of track that winds its way over Soak City and along the Lake Erie shoreline, giving riders an unparalleled view of the lake and the Cedar Point skyline. In 2005, the Magnum XL-200 was voted No. 3 in the "Best Steel Roller Coaster in the World" category in a poll conducted by Amusement Today. In only 17 seasons, Magnum has given more than 34 million guests a ride to remember. In 2005 alone, 1,888,539 guests rode Magnum. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall.

I think the most scariest coaster at Cedar Point is Dragster and then Millenium Force and Magnum.

This is my favorite roller coaster. I absolutely love it. It seems like the lines are never very long for it...

Glad to have finally ridden it but next time can I get the car with the round wheels? Actually,if the train wasn't so cramped,it wouldn't have been half bad. I HATE Arrow trains!

i can understand how this coaster was really good when it came out. but now, its really ageing.....not much fun. it was very bumpy and jerky....EXTREMELY tight. my hope is that they turn this into something like nitro or diamondback !!! that would be awesome !!! and the mantis is really not that great. but everything else at Cp rocks !!! i was just really dissapointed with magnum. didnt live up to its reputation one bit.

There are two flaws about the Magnum Xl-200. The brakes are slippery after the rain and it takes forever to get to the top. So after the rain, don't go on this ride until its a day after it rained because the brakes will not respond that often after it rains.
