I perform Brown Eyed Girl and Moondance all the time (LIVE) and hate it. I want to play When The Healing Has Begun and Summertime In England but would be lynched. I think Van has had great moments: Astral Weeks, Veedon Fleece, Into The Music, Common One, No Guru and others, but the pop stuff is what he is known for. I agree with the dude. And I dig L.Bangs

this guys must be on drugs ! how da fuck can he say that vans later work is better than his early ? vans voice on astral weeks is mindblowingly powerful, i seen him live recently and he is a shadow of his former self

Here are some of the lyrics to "In the Garden" on the album "No guru, no method, no teacher," No Guru, no method, no teacher Just you and I and nature And the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost The "eternal summers in the garden" tend to suggest some sort of paradise. It seems pretty clear that Van is talking about metaphysical things. He's definitely no atheist. He may not be talking about a particular denomination within Christianity, but his lyrics certainly contain Christian dialogue.

i dont mind your start, mate, but i dont like your finish, go take yourself away, sit your self down, in a dark room, play NO GURU, and see what you think. And when you are finished, go and read another book, like Richard Dawkins, work it out, creepy man. God Does Not Exist. I dont mind you having your opinions, but please, dont try and grab Van as YOUR MAN

Van has been a LIGHT OUT OF THE DARKNESS for me on many occasions, and you are spot on with this vlog. Right on, brother! They will not be playing "Madame Joy" or "In The Garden" on that dark and, dreadful day...but I will. 5 stars.

What is that guy on about.... ever hear Van sing No Guru, No Method, No Teacher....That's what he's about. Christians...can't stand them.

I'm a true Van fan. It is so that I say with respect, unsuspecting people should not be subjected to this when searching "Van Morrison" It's not right. Also, his music is not as organic, lyrics not as poetic, voice inarguably not as powerful or emotionally charging as it was in the days of Astral Weeks, His Band & The Street Choir, Tupelo Honey etc... The fact that you can't hear or feel that is insulting to the greatness of his truly great works. I should see Van when I search "Van"

too many orthodox christian overtones on this video which is the exact opposite to what van is all about, van morrison sings about the mystery of love and the mystery of humanity and our place within the universe, its got fuck all to do with what any pope says, van morrison believes in the freedom of the human spirit to not be tied down to any particular religious dogma or organisation that denies the spontaneity of the human spirit,as van the man says himself we gotta step into the mystery of life
