Daayuuum! What a great experience. I, too, was lucky enough to meet P-Funk and check out many of their shows in Japan over the years. "The Brides" 1st came to Japan in about '82 Dawn Lynn with Bernie, Skeet, Peanut, Jerome Brailey, Mike Hampton and others. I hung out with Eddie Hazel one year and have seen the show many times from back stage at Club Citta, Ariake, the club next to The Bayside in Yokohama. I couldn't stay till the end because I had to catch the last train home.

This show was a part of Fuji Rock Festival 2002. I was very lucky to experience their sound-check before the show, where all the drummers took turns to jam with Lige, the bass player. It was so funky. As usual, they kept on playing well into the midnight, when the orgnaizer finally cut off the electricity! But nobody can stop the P-funk party! So, George, without a microphone, got the audience to chant"WE WANT THE FUNK" with Ron Wright playing the drums(without PA system!).

Based on the fact that I am one of the biggest P-Funk fans ever, I would say this has to be between 2003 and 2005. Kendra Foster is in the video and she didn't join until '03, plus George Clinton doesn't look like that lately. '05 was their album release of How Late Do U Have 2BB4UR Absent? and I really think this was before that. Obviously this is in Japan... Notice the audience and flags.
