(though few songs of any era can really compete with this)

There's still good music being made, they just don't play it on the (mainstream) radio. And one side of movies is pushing the limits of "derivative" (ha, math), but there are some good movies coming out too (YMMV, I loved No Country for Old Men, for example)

Yes I realize I just spelled ripping... wripping....

This song predates Dylans by three years. The whole idea that a song can sound too much like another is stupid unless your wripping off lyrics.

Stills once was at the forefront of America. He is now at the south end going further south just like all the neocrats who believe OBAMA is the messiah!

True and probably 85% of the music played on rock stations came out between 1969 and 1980. Now almost 30-40 yrs old. The movie industry is becoming the same way. The biggest draws are the retro Spiderman, Batman, Hulk, King Kong etc. My take with both is that Hollywood and the music industry are so focused on shock value and other nonsense, catered to dimwitted people that they have forgotten that some of us want to watch a movie with a good plot, or listen to some lyrics that tell a story. |
