Humphrey Lyttelton In Memoriam

A tribute to Humphrey Lyttelton, who died last Friday at the age of 86. He was, of course, one of Britain's leading jazz musicians, but to me he will always be the wonderfully grumpy chairman of BBC Radio's "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue", the antidote to panel games. Here is a little sampling of his wry humor and sarcastic wit, on display in this program for the last three decades. Able assistance was provided by Barry Cryer, Graeme Garden, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Jeremy Hardy, Ross Noble, Sandi Toksvig and Stephen Fry. Funniest "dirty old man" I ever heard. We'll miss you, Humph! ****** Update: It seems I have mistaken the very funny Fred MacAulay for the equally funny Ross Noble. My apologies to them and to Scotland in general! Thanks to pmh030 for the heads-up.

I have listned to Humph and the gang for many years. I cant believe he has gone, he was almost timeless.

I love Stephen Fry giggling at the end. The best thing about ISIHAC is when the teams and humph cracked up. He'll definately be missed.

I stand corrected! Thanks. I knew Ross Noble had done the show, but didn't recognize MacAuley. Seems I got the wrong Scotsman...:)

Great tribute, just one thing though, at 05:46 it is Fred MacAulay not Ross Noble.
