I'm not sure how Russian planes are certified but in the US an Europe we can always take off with a failed engine after V2 or else stop. As long as the field is balanced (and its required to be for passenger or cargo operations)

I heard a rumor that everybody on the jet was ok and one old pensioner was treated for shock. The pilot spilt his cup of tea in the cockpit. Just a rumor though.

The description says that there were 3 injuries and no fatalities. Pretty amazing - it looks a lot worse than that with the fire. That's about the worst time to have a major bird strike - on takeoff, just before you rotate.
