Thanks for judging me based on my videos. I don't even remember what I said about Max Roach, but this guy's creativity is just standard now for good drummers. He's great, but he's like Gene Krupa - a legend until his techniques are passed to everyone else. At first I thought this guy was crap, then I realized why everyone respects him, and now I think that he's a legend that already passed on his creativity to drummers. Creativity doesn't always sell. Cept to drummers. Stick to your bass.

Quite honestly, I agree with you. Something happened to Max's concept when he switched to matched grip later in his career. Why he did that I do not know, but he bacame sloppier than in his earlier years. Correct -- anyone who is honestly objective will admit this. I saw Max in the mid 80's and I was really not too impressed. I feel he was a much better player in the 50's and 60's.
