The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that Iran is using tension with the west to consolidate the governments power over their population. Otherwise, I'd have to conclude that they are determined to destroy their country, and I don't accept that. Every dealing with Iranians (and Persians) I've had, has left me with the impression of a very practical and pragmatic people. Having said that, I hope they know when to stop. A conflict with any western power would devestate Iran.

I'm not in favor of attacking Iran. But what does your comment mean?

If we go into Iran, everyone that fights will be killed. Everyone standing next to someone that fights will also be killed. Simple math.

I would like to count in some simple math, roughtly 2 million iranians live in USA, and almost none in iran. they go to war, alot of those two million in USA potential internal damage to US on behalf of Iran, for US potentials in Iran, none. conclusion, attack is not the best thing to consider, since you don't know what tose 2 million iranians in US could do in terms of terrorism internaly. I could be wrong just something I thought was intersting to share with yall. peace

Why not? Why is the security of a pariah apartheid state so vital?

look i don't like iran either but it;sproblem with america is not the nuclear weapon but the because it's a huge threat to isreal and of course the oil is just bonus the problem is that isreal isnot gonna be threatened by iran or any other country in the middle east they just can't

Of course, you prefer Iran to be liberated and practice democracy like Iraq today. What a piece of crap.
ravenslaves (August 18, 2008 at 6:12 am)
From what I know about Iran. I question if Iran's actions of "provoking" the west is an attempt to control the situation with the west, or aimed more toward controlling the situation IN Iran? I MAY BE WRONG. But that scenerio makes a little more sense to me. We've seen it here in America. Create a boogy man to justify taking extreme measures at home, to consolidate power. What is the current situation in Iran? Unemployment? Inflation? If anything at all. I'd like to hear from someone in Iran.
