Why on earth would you want to be the size of the pot when you put your opponent on a big ace drawing to less than 10% at worst if he hit two pair? Bet enough to let him think that you might be trying to steal, or maybe betting a second best hand. It's called leverage.

Yeah yeah, everyone is a professional poker player on the internet mate.

seidel's not putting gus on AQ when he called the check raise, most likely two pair A4 or AK at worst to call that. So when the Queen came, gus really doesn't have a lot of outs, so seidel wouldn't bet 50k into 50k to want to drive him out, but a smaller bet like 20k to keep gus calling in order to win more money.

the commentator's a moron
valfitness (August 28, 2008 at 11:52 am)
it didnt matter. gus was calling anything anyway.

i really think seidel misplayed this hand. he should of bet 50k into the 50k pot instead of 20k. A pot sized bet in that situation is the way to go.

no, gus had one of the queens, so the nuts was pocket aces - aces full of queens

very good play by both players but Seidel was just so unfortunate.
the outs of Gus were not much but still he managed to get running queens to take it all |
