From what I have read in the several books on Claude Paul Anka asked for the excusivity for the USA (of course I believe against payment) and then he wrote new text to the music. He sand the song himself but he believed Sinatra would sing it better and then while they were on a party he asked the dj to play the song. Sinatra who was in a desperate love story at the moment was struck by the song and sang it as with all his soul and it became the worldwide hit. That's for the sory. Hope to replie

The original!!! I've heard about this, now I've heard it. Paul certainly added his own touch, but without this My Way could never have been, and according to a few reports (see My Way in Wikipedia; also Paul Anka on Parkinson a few years ago) Frank Sinatra may have exited the entertainment business in the 60's. Thank you Paul!
