People must know about the electric car and the government must see it through. Make people change for the better. Does America need oil tax that bad? I dunno. I hope we/congress/America are/is thinking for the earth. We must change. The earth is really affected by CO2.

in about 2 years that comment you just put out is gonna seem like a joke. in fact it already does since you havent a clue of what youre saying anyay. and you dont think they wouldnt replace the battery during the race? thay would replace it 2 times maybe, and this lovely porsche of yours would refuel how many times? 6?

Dude, how many people drive that many miles in a day? I rarely drive more than 100 miles a day. I don't even get close to 200 miles when I bring my Z to a track day. They aren't trying to make a car for competition on the track. They are trying to make a car that is quick off the line, has a no torque "curve" (because torque is flat as a tabletop), that is nimble, that is stylish and that is fun to drive. And, they succeeded. I drive 10Tenths when I go to the track, but I still want one.

Sure now how about putting the TESLA in Hockenheim or Le Mans against the Porsche? As the speed DOUBLES the energy required to keep the car moving QUADRUPLES and thus the range available on a full charge collapses.

The future was 10 years ago, with NiMH battery EVs doing 150+ miles per charge with potential to sell them for $20k in mass production(See a study titled "Evaluation of Electric Vehicle Production and Operating Costs" by Cuenca and Gaines). Operating cost parity with gasoline cars at $1.30/gallon gas was possible. A shame Chevron snubbed that battery technology out. This single action set mass EV adoption back by at least 15 years, and may have sealed our fate in regard to the peak oil crisis.

Mainstream automakers refuse to make electric cars. There's less profit in them from reduced costs to you and I. If Ferrari wanted to make an electric car, they could have done in 15 years ago. Look up the 1992 Bertone Blitz. 0-60 mph in 6 seconds, lead acid battery pack. Alas, it remained a concept car.

They should team up with Ferrari or other companies and produce them as electric cars. Thinnk about it: Electric Ferrari or electric Jaguar.
