Just as the song goes "video killed the radio star" so goes Fox River Mall killed the Valley Fair Mall (and most of the Downtown too!) May I suggest a law: 'no mall be built anywhere outside the downtown central area'.

I went to cheap movies at the Valley Fair mall a bunch of times. But the Fox River Mall was and is way better.

I grew up in Appleton, and still spend a lot of time there. I saw my first movie ever at the theater, and used to walk with my dad through Kohl's and the interior of the mall. I don't remember much of it, but it's very sad to see it go. I liked Fox River Mall before they remodeled it, when their colors were red and white. The Northland Mall is nice too, but small.

I'm sick of the typical mall stores at Fox River Mall - nothing different than any other. Valley Fair I'd rather be. Kohl's dept. store, Kohl's groceries, the old Golden Griddle, a cinema, much more unique stores, Rocky's was there. The City should have given incentives for stores there. Keep it going and find a niche. Parking was way better than Fox River Mall. Only reason the FRW did well was in the 80's everyone wanted shiny new.
