The GTO, on the other hand, was a massive performance bargain, and my statement still applies that it was the quickest new car under $40k (in the US) when it was sold here.

I wasn't referring to the CTS, I was referring to the GTO since Gino800 called it "slow". The CTS-V isn't exactly a performance bargain, nor was it even that great of a car, having ridden in one. It's a great performer, but the interior wasn't very good and it's kind of pricey. The new CTS-V, on the other hand, is pure sex on wheels... but also very expensive.

first off the cts-v isnt even under 40k new... used though theres a ton... 25k u can get e46 m3, an atom, chatterham, rs6, evo, sti, e55amg... for 30grand you can buy a bmw 1 series and get stage 2 dinan... also 335i dinan... also for 34k you can get a xlr-v... the list goes on

also, this cts sucks. the new cts is easily a good competitor to the bmw or mercedes or audi. cadillacs come a long way. but buick. those are old peoples cars. idt they have them in england, but rest assured, nobody younger than 65 owns one. the only cadillac really still for old people is the dts.

well, i used to think the same thing, in fact, just 2 years ago, my dad wanted to get a cadillac (hes only 45, not too old) and i talked him out of it telling him how horrible they were and overpriced and not to mention for senior citizens. he listened to me, and we wound up with a nissan. but in those two years, cadillacs come along way. in fact, jd power and associates rated them as the 3rd most reliable car company. nissan wasnt even on the list lol.

I mean a GOOD engine, american cars arent as nice or good as the european cars + the cadillac isnt reliable, cadillacs i think are for old peaple........
