but for both factors its hard to tell for now, well see when they finish "negotiating" the SOFA

"designed" by its own people? hardly! the election may have involved its people, but there were restriction on which parties could run, and since the elections the gov hasnt exactly been enforcing the will of the people (same problem with our democracy what a coincidence) as for the oil, youre right, not "straight" to the US, it goes through Israel first. besides US COMPANIES (like i said) doesnt neccessarily mean US markets.

when someone has a knife to your throat so-to-speak you dont exactly have the ability to exercise your free will now do you?
sheepblitzer (August 21, 2008 at 3:08 am)
right, when diplomacy cant be used to get you way we use force. what other regimes in the past does that remind you of?

"its happening right now in Iraq: a "treaty" between US and ...." ...a country whose government was designed and elected by a vote of it's own people. Facts are facts. There is no puppet regime in Iraq. There is no conduit running oil straight from Iraq to the US. Live with it.

"superpower whose military is harbored in nearly every country in the world" So how does this fact, which obviously offends you greatly, negatively effect other countries ability to negotiate with us?
dgonz26868 (August 21, 2008 at 2:52 am)
"where was the diplomacy before grenada, dominican repub, vietnam, somalia, iraq 1? the list goes on" While I can speak for D.R. Grenada had no one with whom to negotiate. As for Vietnam, diplomacy and a treaty ended that war. Took about 6 mos. for the North to break it too. And Somalia? What government existed there to negotiate with? As for Iraq1, Neville Chamberlain taught us the fool hardiness of diplomacy. Saddamn invaded his neighbor. And refused the UN's order to go.

"every sentence this guy utters deserves volumes to explain how full of shit he is" How convinient for you! That way you don't actually have to provide any examples to back up your claim.
