Actually FallenAngel80, Vince wrote the first verse at Keith Whitley's funeral but didn't finish the rest of the song until Vince brother's death. So it's actually a tribute to both of them. It's a beautiful song though it's accompanied by sad memories of loss and happy memories of joy.

this song was played for my dad i was 13 win he passed November 1st 2001 he left a wife and 2 kids Denise.Kyle.he was 10 Brody.he was 3 and me Damian Parr and i was 13 it still hearts me Russel Owen Parr he would be 41 win he passed

my mom sang this song at my brother's funeral. my dad passed away in 2007 then my brother passed away exactly 17 months later. I sure miss them! I thank God no matter what happens. RIP Spug and Dad - I LOVE YOU

i am with all of u who lost someone my uncle has just passed on due to cancer. the doctors gave him 6 months to a year. he didn't even make 6 months. this is the song that will be played at his memorial. he was 53. R.I.P. Steven Olson
