That's because this game actually had a substantial fighting system based off of Guilty Gear. Of course it was also made by the same people, Arc System Works.

Yeah, yeah yeah... It's nice to see some old school shonen jump works being transported into ass-kicking fighting games.
and Hexamethylene made some real good combos!
more fun than the naruto-bleach-death note mainstream, three animes without any charismatic characters.
