I think she's right...if someone you know changes his/her hair colour, it's a bit weird to in the beginning, isn't it?

How is it strange? You obviously haven't seen The Prestidge, Reign Of Fire, Or any of his early films then if you havent heard him talk in his own tongue before. And it isnt a British Accent, It's English.

wow..this is so weird, I'm used to hear him talk with an american accent..although the british one is his original one, it sounds strange

when you call someone "british" it means he lives on either any of the four countries of britain (england, scotland, northern island, and wales).. if you want to be specific, say, you know someone from scotland, you call him a scottish or scots.
British (general)
England=English
Scotland=Scottis
Ireland=Irish
Wales=Welsh

Some people pick up a bit of whatever accent they're hearing at the moment. I think he does that and in one thing I read about him it says whatever accent he's using in a role kind of sticks x
