I am French and I went to New York last year. I had an American exchange partner. We drove on the 59th Street Bridge and as we both are fans of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel we heard and sang this lovely song. I reckon I will never forget this moment it was as if I fulfiled a dream.
Simon and Garfunkel are to me the most important artists ever.

Thank god for youtube. What'd we ever do w/o it?? Any song just about at a whim. Driving home tonight I told my husband "slow down you move to fast" and before I knew it this song was in my head and I was humming it all the way home. Good to hear it again after so many years.

I heard that, NatureGirl62! Those were our "happy days"!

When I hear this, I am a small child again, in a time when I had no worries, in an era that seems golden to me now. We may have had our various troubles back then, but there was no such thing as a "road rage" incident or a "drive-by shooting". Thanks so much for posting this.

This song makes you feel happy. Not high, happy. Something modern music lacks pitifully. Modern music is good, but has a tendency to the depressing. |
