Goverment didn't act they way they should of, they way that was required, and the public didn't make it as big of a issue as it should of been. And a big part of it was race, but it shouldn't matter we are at the point in society where when something happens like this, race dosen't matter. Race is a issue to this day, but in times like this when it's a tragedy our society is suppost to care more than it did, and our goverment is suppost to act faster and better than it did.

we refers to all of us as a generation. As a world. It's about everyone. I'm not saying I understand everything about it. but I am saying I know the nation could of done more, the goverment should of acted faster, and more steps should of been taking. If more people spoke up and brought it as a issue to help it would of gotten done, Public didn't have the outcry it should of. These were people in need of help, fuck race, fuck religion they were innocent people who went through shit and the

first off who the fuck is we!?.... if your white your already bias in this situation.... i was in the marines at the time serving this country and was on the first c-130 there to help.... we could have done more.!!!..

Race has nothing to do with helping people. We are suppost to be the generation getting past the racial problems of the past. I am not idealistic, It's a hard fight we are not there yet, but we are suppost to be to the point where To save another man's life shouldn't matter his race. We aren't where we need to be as a nation or a world. But we should at least be at the point where we see everyone as humans. Where we still care about their lives. And in Katrina WE DIDN'T WE MESSED UP.

my favorite part is "Conceal are Nation"

he should scream, tear his hair out! cry, save our soul! 65% of the Dutch are below sea level and they protect their people with the best engineering available. The neglect in the maintenance of the dikes, and the cruel abandonment of our people is a shameful stain on our nation's soul i can't wash out. I may never recover. I don't understand. Are we beasts? We can't build proper sea-walls to protect our fellow Americans? What? The name of our nation is the UNITED STATES of AMERICA.
