I never liked this video-love the song-but the video doesn't fit my interpretation of the song. The lyrics remind me of my divorce-though I imagine my ex-wife singing them to me. It was she who hurt me not the other way round.

I think the girl he "hit" was actually his friend, and she was faking being hit as bad as it seemed. When she got hit, it caused a commotion and caused the shopkeeper to leave so the guy could sneak in and have the safe picker unlock the safe so he could steal the red gem. Then he leaves, the girl who got hit gets up, and at the end they are back at their hideout, their mission a success.
