its just my opinion...you can never be to old to be the original king...haley continued playing the big beat throughout his career.presley went more into the pop field.i am not knocking presley...i saw haley many times here in the U.K and old or not he blew the house down at his live appearances..just a great rnroll act.much missed.

if that is does that make micheal jackson the prince of pop as people call him, well i donno cos i think elvis presley was always the king of rock and roll bill haley was too old,elvis had it all.

Bill and the Comets were the the true Kings of Rock & Roll, and the first. Great memories,for all us "old" folks!

everyone knew Elvis's songs and Elvis was just amazing and he didn't stray from rock to another genre, well close to end he was a little saddened but everyone recognized him as the best and he still is recognized today, even with the emo crap, from bands like death cab for cutie.

I know Elvis fans will be upset with me. Perhaps fans of Jerry Lee, Chuck and even Little Richard. But to me, Bill Haley is the true king of Rock and Roll. He had the inspiration, he put it to music, he rocked it up and we're talking the 1950's here. He was the first in my mind to take his background in Blues, Country and R&B and put it together in a Popular song that everyone knew. He was THE FIRST artist of Rock and Roll.
