Love this movie, one of my all-time favorites. I've always been a fan of flatland BMX too, cool to watch. The song is "Break The Ice" by John Farnham (he also did a couple more songs in the movie--google rad soundtrack for more info)

Surely the numbnuts morons who haven't released the silly but compulsively watchable 80s classic "RAD" on DVD need to realize just how many of the numerous viewers of "RAD" clips on YouTube have bothered to either state "I totally remember this movie!" or "WHY ISN'T IT ON DVD?" Stop and think how many movies have had superfluous multiple DVD releases whiel "RAD" hasn't been released once. Hell, Bill Allen has a whole site up just for its fans. The Wikipedia entry mentions the cult, too.

mannnnnnn that brought some memories. i remember when me and my brother saw this movie for the first time 20 years ago. we went and bought our first gt bikes and got into freestyle. i think im going to get my kid bike now and try to pull these old triks again. wish me luck.
