its true, but check out the eric clapton and george terry version on claptons blues album. its live and i think one of the best covers ever. also, i love john mayall, he started it all over there..

When I saw Freddie and Albert in concert around 1970, I was about six feet from the stage. Freddie is my favorite blues guitarist....a real powerful attack !!
Definitely, the KING OF THE BLUES !!

Clapton and Duane Allamn did a great version of this blues classic in 1970, but few blues singers had the powerhouse pipes of Freddie King.
One of the overlooked legends of the blues who died much too early. I think Freddie was better than Buddy Guy and would be getting the same attention as Guy if he was alive today.

the best version of this is freddy's...

the best version of this song has to be from john mayall's primal solos album. it was recorded at the flamingo club (london) in 1966 but released in 1977 by the london records group. john mayall - vocals, organ, harmonica. eric clapton - lead guitar. ginger baker - 6 string fender bass. hughie flint - drums. the performance was about 9 months before the debut of cream. i found the album in vinyl in a record collector's garage - he sold it to me for 50 cents....never seen it in stores.
