LB has said in interviews that he's self taught when it comes to playing guitar and writing music. However, it's obvious he's been influenced by other artists. I can easily imagine Etta James singing this song while some white bluegrass picker accompanies her. This song is about a love that transcends style, talent, class, color and EVERYTHING.

the rythm is key to playing this song well- it is very easy to screw up.. then add the difficulty of singing and an audience and you get 1 shot at it. thats why he is rich- he can pull it off on stage. I think the guitar is a Gibson classical - and I suspect he is using a delay but not sure- anyway, it is brilliant- and the end is primal...true art.
